Sites with presumed metal contamination were only available for Xanthoria (Párnica and Dolná Streda) and comparison with a potentially cleaner site (High Tatra Mountains) did not show a clear trend, indicating that Hg deposition has no connection with a metallurgical factory or metal dump, at least in the case of Xanthoria .
