In OVCAR-4 cells, supplementation of the media with the BCAAs (1 mM, which on its own had no effect on cell growth) appeared to reduce synergy between paclitaxel and CMVA, although this did not reach statistical significance, possibly because of the modest synergy seen in cell growth assays with this cell line (Fig. 1h ) and the poor potency of CMVA [ 35 ].
