“at the margin of significance”

Although the statistical evidence for this mediation pathway was at the margin of significance, its biological coherence and the substantial proportion of the total effect it potentially explains (47%) make it a compelling, hypothesis-generating finding that warrants further experimental investigation.

On the other hand, the test based on the total number of alleles and the range of allele sizes provided M -ratios consistently below critical thresholds of a sample drawn from a small ( θ = 0.2) to moderate ( θ = 1.0) population and at the margin of significance in a large population ( θ = 2.0), indicating a bottleneck and suggesting reduction in population size.

Despite the major G′ peaks, five minor G′ peaks at the margin of significance have been identified on chromosomes 2, 3 (left to qNR 3.1), 4, and 12 (on both sides of qNR12.1 ).

More specifically, fathers’ engagement in stimulation activities might play a key role on child screen time: at the margin of significance, the more the father adhered to the "Every day care without physical leisure time" pattern (characterized by high weekly frequencies of bathing and reading for their child and low weekly frequencies of playing as well as walking with them), the less they scored on the mixed pattern, defined by a high level of screen time.

Four of them were at the margin of significance, with two (towards the left end of chromosomes 2 and 8) slightly exceeding and two (one at the left end of chromosome 1, the other at the right end of chromosome 9) nearly reaching the threshold; while all others were apparently under the threshold ( Figure 1B ).

Fluoroquinolone exposure was associated with both, cephalosporin-resistance and piperacillin/tazobactam resistance, whereas the association with fluoroquinolone-resistance remained at the margin of significance.

The p -values of these metabolites were at the margin of significance level, with methyl xylariate C (P_60) being the most significant.
