After adjusting for covariates, the comparison between persons who currently smoke and persons who have never smoked (RRR = 1.63, 95% CI:1.95 to 1.97, P < .0001) reveals that not good physical health days became non-significant (full model only), and not good mental health days 1-14 became borderline significant in the full model or remained significant in the reduced model.
The increase in the CFR for the entire year was significant in the case of CHF (adjusted OR-adjOR 1.226 95% CI: 1.172–1.282) and borderline significant in the case of non-STEMI (adjOR 1.104 95% CI: 1.001–1.217), but was not significant in the case of STEMI (adjOR 1.091 95%CI: 0.934–1.275), although this varied from period to period.
Worth noting is that isolated lacerations and contusions were the only hemorrhage type to have a nearly unchanging 10-year trend in the adjusted odds of neurosurgical intervention (odds ratio = 1.02) and were the only hemorrhage type to have a borderline significant increase in odds of in-hospital mortality or discharge to hospice (+40%).
Hypotension, high pulse rate, transport time, year, level of crew certification, and system ECG capability were all significant predictors ( P <0.05) of ECG utilization in multivariable models; however, hypotension and high pulse rate were only borderline significant since rounded values for the 95% confidence interval included 1 at the lower bound.
