Furthermore, a negative trend was found between sperm morphology (Q1, 6.0%; Q2–Q4, 5.0%) and semen collection time ( P = 0.007), as well as a positive trend between seminal leukocytes (Q1–Q2, 0.1 × 10 6 ml −1 ; Q3–Q4, 0.2 × 10 6 ml −1 ) and semen collection time ( P = 0.03).

However, the time to ejaculation did not appear to be affected by the number of days of abstinence although participants with a long abstinence period showed a trend toward an association with a short time for semen collection ( Supplementary Table 3 ).
