The sentences
In each study conducted at the same tertiary hospital in 2004 and 2016, respectively, the frequency of metabolic syndrome in gout patients showed a trend towards an increase in 2016 compared to that in 2004 (50.8 vs. 42.2%) [ 30 , 31 ].
The other study using database from 2011~2015 reported overall cancer risk was weakly significant among those ≥20 years of age with gout (HR, 1.05; 95% CI, 1.03~1.08) [ 47 ].
