In terms of age structure, the size of the older adult population in the 31 central cities during the study period showed a trend of rapid growth, with the proportion of the Young- old population shrinking, the proportion of the Old- old population shrinking slightly, and the proportion of the Oldest- old population expanding, which is intended to show that population ageing is not only manifested in the ageing of the total population, but also in the ageing of the older adult population.
