A meta-analysis including 15 RCTs with a total of 2,330 women showed that oral NAC at doses of 1200–1600 mg/day tended to increase ovulation rates, clinical pregnancy rates, and live birth rates compared to placebo or no-treatment controls, although the differences did not reach statistical significance [ 56 ].

However, it is important to note that the study had a small sample size (only 97 participants), and the NAC supplementation group already showed a trend toward higher clinical pregnancy rates (32.7% vs. 18.8%) [ 18 ].
