There was a significant effect of sex on the total GHQ-12 score (p = 0.014), though the effect on the positive and negative subsets did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.14, 0.541).
These findings suggest that while the age effect on mental health may not be significant across all age groups, it could be significant within specific groups, such as the elderly.
