TT was used in 23 patients (25.3%) with STR and in 74 patients (16.7%) with GTR with a slight trend toward more TT in the STR group ( p = 0.052).

However, patients who received CT, showed a trend toward improved survival with GTR (HR: 0.70, 95% CI: 0.48–1.03, p = 0.070).
A similar trend was observed in patients who received ICI: GTR was associated with a lower risk of death (HR = 0.64, 95% CI: 0.35–1.20, p = 0.167), although the results did not reach statistical significance.
This assumption may be significant when determining the indication of primary surgery for BM and for second-look surgery in selected patients with residual tumors.
