Discussion Our study demonstrates that periodontal inflammation (measured as BOP) and severity (measured as PIRIM) are associated with a higher cardiovascular risk, measured by LDLC, HDLC, CRI-1, CRI-2 and a near-significant association between PIRIM and AIP.
