Meta-analyses have found that cemented stems are associated with significantly fewer intra- and postoperative periprosthetic fractures compared to cementless options. 3 Registry data support a 59% relative risk reduction with cemented stems. 4 In our study, we observed a clear inverse trend between preoperative YAM and intraoperative fracture risk, especially in underweight patients (BMI < 18.5 kg/m 2 ), with a suggestive trend despite not reaching statistical significance.
