The primary finding of this study was that high-dose daptomycin monotherapy (125 mg/kg, simulating a human dose >12 mg/kg) was the most effective regimen for reducing bacterial load in a cardiac vegetation, demonstrating significantly greater bactericidal activity than combination therapy with daptomycin plus fosfomycin, and a strong trend towards superiority over daptomycin plus ceftaroline.
