Although lighting condition remained a highly significant predictor of mean visual discomfort (mins 2–10; p < 0.001), neither aura status nor VLSQ or UPSIS scores significantly predicted mean discomfort, and no condition × moderator interactions were observed (all interaction p values > 0.23).
The difference between LWR and LWB approached significance (Δ M = 0.170, p = 0.057), while no significant differences were found between LWR and LWC ( p = 0.102) or between LWB and LWC ( p = 1.000) (Fig. 5 ).
Although this decrease did not reach statistical significance, t (20) = 1.56, p = 0.134, the direction of the effect and the small-to-moderate effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.34) suggest a potentially beneficial trend.
