Effects of artificial and natural menopause are very similar and lie between the point estimates for menopause at age less than 50 and menopause at age greater than 50 (data not shown). The main effect of pre-first-childbirth BCMA is shown in Table 3. In only two of the seven studies, a clear trend of increased risk of breast cancer with increasing duration of pre-first-childbirth BCMA was found (Lee et al, Lifanova et al).
