Discussion The two major findings of our study are as follows: first, in the overall cardiac surgery population studied, the administration of high-dose TXA showed a strong trend toward an association with convulsive seizures, whereas aprotinin was associated with a higher rate of stroke and neurologic disability after cardiac surgery with CPB.
