Although the difference in ALT levels between the HBsAg +ve HBV DNA +ve and HBsAg −ve HBV DNA +ve groups did not reach statistical significance ( Table 3 ), individuals who were HBsAg +ve anti-HBc +ve HBV DNA +ve [group C] had significantly higher ALT levels compared to individuals who were either serologically −ve HBV DNA +ve [group A] (p<0.05) or anti-HBc +ve HBV DNA +ve [group E] (p<0.05) ( Figure 2 ).
