The impact on parents’ daily activities showed a trend to lower scores in children aged under 6 months compared with the older age groups, possibly because parents of children aged under 6 months are likely to be on parental leave, or possibly because a child aged under 6 months requires a great deal of parental attention regardless of health status, and therefore the change in response to illness may be correspondingly less than in older age groups.
