Cross-generalization between stimulus and template neural patterns Training the population tuning-curve weights on template orientations around the time of stimulus onset (–150 to +300 ms) showed a strong trend toward generalizing to stimulus decoding shortly after onset ( Figure 5A , 52–124 ms, corr. p = 0.063).
However, this change in the onset of the significant window does not change our interpretation of the results, since we had already discussed the likelihood that part of the template reactivation could occur shortly before stimulus onset (end of Discussion) as the same pre-stimulus time period was near-significant (p < 0.07) even in the previously reported analysis.
