A more likely explanation is that the association in primary THA failed to reach statistical significance due to a smaller sample size in the present study, with our current study consisted of 488 patients with only 41 patients with reporting moderate-severe pain (outcome of interest) in our current THA study versus compared to 783 patients with 87 patients with reporting moderate-severe pain (outcome of interest) in the previous TKA study [ 4 ].
