Focusing on variation with diagnoses within each cortical region, there were significantly lower levels of PPIA , SNCA and NOL9 mRNA as well as a strong trend towards significantly lower levels of GAPDH in BA 8 and a trend to lower levels of SKP1 in BA 9 from subjects with schizophrenia compared to control (Fig. 2 ).

The sentences
Using the suggested 3 genes from BestKeeper showed a trend to higher levels of TFB1M in BA 8 from subjects with schizophrenia (Fig. 5d ), NormFinder did not reveal any significant variation with diagnoses in that cortical region (Fig. 5g ) whilst using reference genes suggested by geNorm showed a strong trend to lower levels of NOL9 in subjects with schizophrenia (Fig. 5j ).
