Because the LDL-to-HDL ratio [ 32 ] and total CHOL-to-HDL ratio [ 35 ] were demonstrated as appropriate biomarkers in the prediction of future cardiovascular events, our data reveals a clear trend for increased risks for future metabolic and cardiovascular events in these elite combat athletes.
