Importantly, there are highly significant differences in polygenic scores between the clinical groups, both in this sample and in previous studies (Bramon et al., 2014 ; Derks et al., 2012 ; Purcell et al., 2009 ; Ripke et al., 2014 ), indicating that this measure does capture genetic variants that differ between patients, unaffected relatives, and healthy controls.
