Kaplan-Meier-analysis of time to progression, i.e., a 5-fold increase in tumor size to a volume of 1000 mm 3 was considered an event, showed a trend to be improved under combined treatment but did not reach statistical significance (Figure 3B ): median time to progression was 33 days in photon-EBRT vs. 45 days in PERT group (p = 0.054) and 35 days in carbon-EBRT vs. 61 days in CERT group (p = 0.18).
