The main effect of task order was marginally significant ( F (1,32) = 4.01, P = 0.054, η 2 = 0.11), indicating that response reversals tended to be higher in the Auditory-Visual (5%) than the Visual-Auditory (3%) condition.
In addition, accuracy data at the long SOA of Experiment 1 showed a trend of RT-accuracy tradeoff in the Auditory-Visual condition: although the first auditory responses were slower than the second visual responses, accuracy was higher in the former than in the latter case [Figure 3a and 3b ].
More importantly, all the interactions between experiment and gender did not reach statistical significance, indicating that the gender effect was matched between the two experiments.
