However, although p -values of fear of negative evaluation (FNE-B: β = 0.22, p = 0.072, sr 2 = 0.05) and maximum anxiety levels during the in vivo BAT (SUD in vivo: β = 0.24, p = 0.053, sr 2 = 0.06) approached significance ( p < 0.05 in Step 2), none of the variables in the final model significantly predicted the experience of negative social events.
Fear and avoidance in social situations (LSAS-SR: β = 0.04, p = 0.779, sr 2 = 0.00), RTs for angry faces during the AAT (AAT angry: β = −0.14, p = 0.126, sr 2 = −0.02), and maximum anxiety levels during the virtual reality BAT (virtual reality SUD: β = 0.18, p = 0.101, sr 2 = 0.05) were no significant predictors of SSA scores in the final model, although the latter was approaching significance (see Table 2A for regression equations).
