Congruent with these data, we observed apparently augmented incorporation of labelled glucose into glycogen, although this failed to reach statistical significance (Fig. 5d , p = 0.064) and significantly increased skeletal muscle glycogen content in DMPP-treated mice, also compared with pair-fed mice with a similar loss in body weight (Fig. 5e, f , p ≤ 0.05).
