Results were trending towards significance for the associations of BMI with psychological stress ( r s = −0.252, p = 0.05) and fear of pain ( r s = −0.237, p = 0.076) and of DHEA with FDI ( r s = −0.244, p = 0.069).
Conversely, results were nearing significance in the opposite direction by indicating that a history of ACEs were more strongly associated with sleep (z = 1.73, p = 0.08) and anxiety (z = 1.78, p = 0.075) in the low-risk AL vs. high-risk AL groups. 4.
Given the pilot nature of the current study, it may be worth considering results trending toward significance in order to inform future investigations.
Interestingly, associations approached significance between ACE history and sleep and anxiety in the low AL risk grouping only.
