Analysis of the NFPA subgroup demonstrated that at post-operative day 1, the eTSS-uni group demonstrated lower GNPI scores compared to the mTSS group (median GNPI 16 vs 32) and eTSS-bi group (median GNPI 16 vs 33) but these results did not reach statistical significance ( p > 0.05, Kruskal–Wallis test, Fig. 2b ).

As shown in supplementary table S1 , the majority of GNPI items showed a significant trend with an initial drop in the percentage of asymptomatic patients (score = 0) up to 1 month post-operatively and a recovery in the percentage of asymptomatic patients close to or above pre-treatment levels by 6–12 months post-operatively.
