Assessment of lung injury, based on the histology scoring system, showed a trend to a more severe presence of hyaline membranes, microthrombi, and inflammatory infiltrate in unvaccinated patients ( Figure 2 ) and a significantly higher score concerning the extension of hemorrhage ( p ≤ 0.01) compared to vaccinated lungs.
