The higher average pain modulation under naltrexone compared to placebo found in VAS ratings (naltrexone: -10.09, placebo: -7.31, see Table 1) suggests an increase in pain modulation by naltrexone compared to placebo, although this did not reach statistical significance, which is the opposite of what we had expected (see comment #11).
