PERMANOVA revealed a highly significant difference in bacterial community composition between the two cohorts ( p < 0.001; r 2 = 0.051), with the outcome that ethnicity but not age, sex, BMI or FPG was identified as being significantly associated with microbiota composition when these key factors were tested against each other.
Excerpts
The results showed that highly significant differences were observed in CH 4 fluxes among different treatments ( p < 0.001).
This difference was significant as early as 24 h after inoculation ( p < 0.01, Wilcoxon test), and highly significant after 30 h of incubation ( p < 0.001, Wilcoxon test).
Interestingly, we found a highly significant association ( p < 0.001) between VAGs ( ace , sprE , fsrA , fsrB , and cob ) and the formation of strong/moderate biofilms (data not shown).
For example, the divergence in fungal community composition at this salinity threshold was highly significant in dataset 2 (Permanova; P = 0.001, Figure 3B ).
The correlation was deemed significant if p < 0.05 and highly significant if p < 0.001.
A p -value > 0.05 (ns) indicates a non-significant difference, a p -value < 0.05 indicates a significant difference (*), a p -value < 0.01 expresses a highly significant difference (**), and a p -value < 0.001 expresses a very significant difference (***). 3.
Mantel correlation further indicated that while the bacterial community structure of the FL and PA size fractions were significantly different (ANOSIM test: R = 0.37, p < 0.001; Supplementary Table S9 ), there was a highly significant positive relationship between the two size fractions ( r = 0.92, p < 0.001; Partial mantel test) ( Figure 8 ).
Variations in amino sugars and MNC content in soil LMM analysis showed that land-use type had a highly significant main effect on all four amino sugars ( p < 0.001), whereas soil depth alone had no significant main effect on any of them.
amplicon sequencing gut microbiome methodology Tephritidae Ceratitis capitata Permutational multivariate analysis of variance revealed a highly significant interaction of preservation and life stage (at P < 0.001) as well as a significant interaction of preservation and dissection (at P = 0.047) ( Table 1A and Supplementary Table S8a ).
The infection was low in MLN (one sample t -test, P = 0.119, n = 5), whereas highly significant in spleen (one sample t -test, P = 0.001, n = 5) and liver (one sample t -test, P = 0.023, n = 5) on day 1 PI.
In the fungal community, both indices of the Tb groups exhibited lower values than those of the CK groups, particularly in the Shannon index, which displayed highly significant differences across all regions ( p < 0.001).
*, p < 0.05 (considered significant compared with control group); **, p < 0.01 (considered highly significant); ***, p < 0.001 (considered extremely significant). 3.
On a relative basis, the FBA gene of the F10-D strain presented extremely significant upregulation on days 5 and 7 in YPD + Fru medium, with a 1.4-fold increase on day 5 ( p < 0.001) compared to that in the YPD group; the FBA gene of the T17-D strain in YPD + Fru medium was upregulated on days 1, 3, and 5, with a 1.5-fold increase on day 5 ( p < 0.05); the FBA gene of the TF15-A strain was extremely significantly upregulated on days 1, 3, 5, and 7, and the expression level was upregulated almost 2.5-fold ( p < 0.001) on day 5.
This difference was highly significant (Fisher’s exact test, p < 0.001).
As depicted in Figure 5C , fermentation exerted a highly significant effect ( p < 0.001) on differential metabolites involve in ABC transporters, aminoacyl-tRNA synthesis, and ascorbic acid and aldonic acid metabolism pathways.
Citrate synthase (Intca_04135), the enzyme catalyzing the conversion of acetyl-CoA to citrate and the first step of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, showed a highly significant increase in transcript abundance between EE-LE and -ST (lfc = 4.3 ± 0.5, p < 0.001; 6.9 ± 0.5, p < 0.001).
For instance, the relative abundance of Escherichia – Shigella displayed an increasing trend from day 5 to month 3 in CS infants ( Supplementary Table 2 , Generalized Linear Models, p = 0.001).
Over the years, a decreasing trend was observed for carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella species for VAP ( p -value < 0.001) and UTI ( p -value < 0.003), while the trend was not significant for BSI ( p -value = 0.134) and IAI ( p -value = 0.018).
Despite the high phylogenetic relatedness of these hosts, and their similar values of D (Figure 3 ), the microbiomes of these three host species displayed highly significant differences in BCD (adonis: df = 2, F = 4.62, R 2 = 0.435, P < 0.001).
Post-hoc tests showed N amendment was highly significant at Pellston ( p = 0.001) and not significant at Wexford ( p > 0.1).
Results The response of the bacterial assemblages to environmental factors The combined effect of elevation, cushion habitat, and soil physico-chemical parameters on composition of bacterial assemblages derived from CE-SSCP profiles explained 55.2% of the total data variation in Nubra, which was highly significant (db-RDA, P < 0.001).
Propionic acid was less abundant than butyric acid in both animal-diet ( F = 0.3, P = 0.62, non-significant) and plant-diet ( F = 47.8, P < 0.001, highly significant) samples.
