CONCLUSIONS Our data show a decreasing trend in the use of off pump in the UK since 2008.

The gender disparity in HALE exhibited a decreasing trend, from 4.53 years in 2008 to 4.10 years in 2019, and subsequently increased by 0.45 years in 2020 compared with the previous year.
