At first sight, the lack of a modulation of SOA effects in comparisons involving oculomotor Task 2 responses might appear to be at odds with the significant modulation of the SOA effect reported above (there was even a numerical trend towards oculomotor subordination instead of dominance), especially since previous research has provided strong evidence for a general prioritization of the oculomotor system over all other effector systems.
Notably, a numerical trend towards inferior outcomes was observed in highly immunogenic brain metastases characterized by combined adenosine pathway activation and high PD-L1 expression (adenosine high/PD-L1 high), which may indicate a clinically relevant high-risk phenotype and further underscore the unmet medical need for an expansion of immunotherapeutic strategies in brain metastases.
Despite the difference in feed intakes between housing groups in this study, there were no significant differences in growth rates in the pre-weaning period ( p = 0.74), although as mentioned above, there was a numerical trend towards higher growth rates in the pair housed calves around the time of weaning, which could be explained by the increased solid feed intakes.
The PC and ZEO + AFB 1 treatments had a numerical trend of decreased Peilou’s Evenness and Shannon index (measures the overall alpha diversity of the bacterial community) compared to the HA + AFB 1 treatment, indicating that the challenge of AFB 1 could potentially cause the proliferation of certain pathogenic bacteria, leading to a change in the bacteria community.
It is also of note that Bonvicini et al.’s meta-analysis of 3 studies of adults with ADHD ( n = 117) showed no difference between salivary cortisol levels of ADHD and normal controls ( p = 0.13), but there was a numerical trend showing adults with ADHD having lower salivary cortisol levels [ 8 ].
