Statistical significance was also present for variable ‘Type of arecanut use’ (with/without tobacco) ( P = 0.009), and BQDS score was closer to significance ( P = 0.007).

If the distal (TA and TS) and proximal (Q and H) position is tested instead of the muscle group, the muscle position comes closer to significance [ F (1, 142) = 4.57, p = 0.0343] but still below the threshold.

When hippocampal recordings were analyzed instead of cortical EEG, the greater theta power in 5 week-old Tg2576 compared to WT mice was closer to significance (p = 0.054) but did not strictly meet criterion (p < 0.05).
