Extracellular survivin might be significant for the pathogenesis of inflammation as previously reported in human leukocytes in the context of autoimmune arthritis 56 or asthmatic pregnancy. 57 In its extracellular context, survivin modulates T-cell responses, skewing immunity towards a Th2 response 58 similar to the phenotype observed in obese patients where leptin resistance is developed. 59 Moreover, downregulation of survivin results in a decrease of IL-6 production by human monocytes. 60 Overall, an additional function of survivin in modulation of inflammatory state in obesity should not be ruled out.
While the data points belonging to the tumors from Asian women remained dispersed throughout, the data points representing tumors from Black and white women segregated into two distinct clusters suggesting that there might be significant differences in bacterial community composition of breast tumors from Black and white women (Fig. 5 ).
In the heat cluster map ( Figure 5 A), the gene expression of the ALI group and LP-cs-presupplemented group showed significant differences as compared with the control, and a very different clustering was observed in the LP-cs-Gel-presupplemented group, which indicated that there might be significant differences between LP-cs-Gel and LP-cs in the effect and molecular regulation mechanism.
