Comparative analysis of categorical variables was performed using Fisher’s exact test or a χ2-test with Yates’ correction, and continuous variables through the Mann–Whitney U -test with statistical significance (P < 0.05) or near significance (P < 0.1) were subjected to multivariate analysis using a forward stepwise logistic regression model.
