Other studies in Mexican-Americans and Taiwanese Chinese in sample sizes of NPDR/PDR varying from 103 to 437 revealed the association of borderline significance with a few SNPs.[ 37 54 55 56 ] However, all these associations need to be replicated to draw any meaningful biological conclusion.

In Tanzania, another trial of insecticide spraying after mass distribution of antibiotics led to a 39 % lower prevalence of trachoma after six months spraying; although this was of borderline significance, after 12 months there was no difference in trachoma prevalence despite consistent reductions in M. sorbens abundance [ 11 ].

While there were some results of borderline significance, they were neither strong nor consistent across the different analyses.

Knee pain was of borderline significance in cross-sectional analyses but became significant over time.

The corresponding 1-year risk for MI was of borderline significance at 1.38 (95% CI: 1.00-1.77) .

Lactate, which has a well-known predictive value in sepsis, showed a positive association of borderline significance with omentin-1.

18 There was a substantial reduction of borderline significance in the proportion of potentially toxic concentrations (>20 mg/mL), which have been associated with kidney toxicity. 19 – 21 This finding warrants further investigation to confirm this observation.
