Although the overall effect was not significant, subgroup analysis based on PA intensity revealed that the result in the low-intensity group approached significance (MD = −4.97, 95% CI: −9.89, −0.05, p = 0.05), with a larger effect size than that in the moderate-to-vigorous-intensity group (MD = −0.31, 95% CI: −1.28, 0.65, p = 0.53).
Although the overall pooled analysis showed no statistically significant effect of the intervention, a clear trend was observed in the PA intensity subgroup analysis based on our pre-specified subgroup analyses.
While low-intensity activities appeared to show a favorable trend, this finding should be interpreted with caution, given the limited number of studies and differences in study design.
The results indicated that the overall combined effect size of the intervention did not reach statistical significance when the MABC or MABC-2 scale was used as the assessment tool.
