Additionally, patients with persistently negative EBV-DNA showed a trend toward improved survival compared with those who converted from negative to positive, and patients who achieved viral clearance (positive to negative) also tended to have better outcomes than those with persistent positivity; however, these differences did not reach statistical significance.
Nevertheless, a clear trend was evident: patients with persistently positive EBV-DNA or those who converted from negative to positive during chemotherapy exhibited poorer survival outcomes, whereas those with persistently negative EBV-DNA or viral clearance tended to have more favorable prognoses (Fig. 3 ).
