Our earlier study on the effects of 4 weeks HBOT in rats that were diabetic for one month, showed improved oxygen saturation of the lower end of the capillary network together with increased mean skin breaking strength; however, compared with controls, the difference did not reach statistical significance [ 10 ].
The quantity of hemoglobin in the micro-blood vessels (rHB) showed a significant decrease in the HBOT group on days 21 and 42, and showed a trend to decrease on day 31.
