In subgroup analyses, we again observed a larger treatment effect estimate in patients with no previous history of CVDD, pooled aHR = 1.60 (95% CI; 1.19, 2.14), compared to patients with CVDD history, pooled aHR = 1.16 (95% CI; 1.03, 1.32), but interaction analyses failed to reach statistical significance (p = 0.052, Table 5 ).

For both individual substances, results suggested a lower hazard for generic medicines, however, results did not reach statistical significance for simvastatin (C10AA01).
Nominally significant treatment effect modification was detected for age (interaction p-value 0.042), with the estimated treatment effects being stronger in patients aged 70 years or younger, aHR 1.20 (95% CI; 1.13, 1.28) than in relatively older patients, aHR 1.10 (95% CI; 1.04, 1.17), and for history of CVDD (interaction p < 0.001) (Table 4 ).
