As can be seen, the difference between the mean final values of A (conditions in which the reaction is pre-specified) is highly significant ( p = 4.71×10 −19 ), whilst the difference between the mean final values of R (conditions in which the reaction is pre-specified) is not ( p = 0.175).
These results were confirmed by a paired t-test comparing the scores within each speaker-listener pair which showed a highly significant difference (story: t = 9.08, df = 665, p < 1.18 × 10 −18 , Cohen’s d = 0.42, partner: t = 7.91, df = 615, p < 1.18 × 10 −14 , Cohen’s d = 0.41).
Using a chi-squared test, a significant association was detected between the ihs locus and SSLP markers on chromosomes 4, 6, 18, 19, and X, with an especially highly significant association at D18Mit233 ( P = 1.78E-18) ( Table 1 ).
All of these were highly significant (the lowest r = 0.67, t (130) = 10.2, p = 3.4×10 −18 ), demonstrating the reliability of the probabilistic boundary maps generated by the standard analysis.
All three endogenous miRNAs showed positive and highly significant correlations with the spike-in control (miR-16: r = 0.691 and P = 5×10 −18 , miR-31 r = 0.734 and P = 3.2×10 −21 , miR-223 r = 0.637 and P = 8.5×10 −15 ).
However, the correlation of the number of childhood adverse life events and the GHQ sum score was highly significant (Spearman R = 0.279, two-tailed P = 5.28×10 −18 ), suggesting a relationship between childhood stress and recent psychological distress.
Given this probability, the fact that we retrieved only 9 (24%) is highly significant (P < 10 −17 from binomial test; P < 1/3001 from simulation test accounting for uncertainty in the retrieval probability, text in S1 File ).
The analysis revealed a highly significant interaction network among the differentially abundant proteins ( p < 1.0 -16 ), indicating that down-regulation of these protein interactions may play a crucial role in modulating intracellular biological processes in pigs fed a BET diet. 3.2.
Statistical analysis (MANOVA) of the original data obtained from the cell populations indicated a highly significant difference between them (p<10 −16 ) suggesting that the nuclear SIRT1 pattern reflects structural differences in the nuclei between the cell populations.
PPI enrichment analysis was highly significant (P < 1.0e-16; Fig 5B ), indicating that the observed interaction density was greater than expected by chance and suggesting coordinated involvement of these genes in bladder cancer–related pathways.
Moreover, the Pearson correlation between association strength of shared SNPs across the two tissues was highly significant ( P <10 −16 ), highlighting the conservative genetic architecture of C18∶1, C18∶3, C20∶0 and C20∶1 in the two tissues.
The correlation between RNA-seq fold changes computed on the data from day 2 versus that from day 4 was highly significant (r = 0.50, P<10 −16 , Figure S2A ).
The correlation is weakly negative ( R S = −0.18) but highly significant ( p <10 −16 ) because the number of points is so large.
The perfect association of the haplotype was highly significant (p<10 −16 ).
The network showed highly significant PPI enrichment (p < 1.0 × 10 −16 ), with an average node degree of 3.52 and a local clustering coefficient of 0.497, supporting the presence of a non-random and moderately clustered interaction structure.
During the active period with lights off there was a highly significant difference between males and females (p = 1.3E-16) and also some difference between sites (p = 1.1E-3) with a significant interaction between site and sex (p = 3E-6) ( Fig 6a and 6b ).
The intercept had an estimated coefficient of 0.8443, which is highly significant (p < 2e-16), indicating a strong positive relationship between the dependent variable and the constant term.
Females had significantly longer forearms (mean = 61.8 mm) than males (mean = 58.5 mm), with non-overlapping 95% confidence intervals and a highly significant t-test result (t = −12.68, p < 2 × 10 − 16).
I do think it is appropriate to highlight those smooth terms which are extremely significant (p<2e-16) according to this test.
After accounting for the general tendency for each participant to report higher or lower GAD-7 scores (Model 2), and adjusting for other covariates (Model 3), highly significant dose-response trends were evident (p < 2e-16 for each), adding 2–3 additional points to GAD-7 scores in highest categories of exposure ( Table 3 and S4 Table ).
The regression coefficients for height, weight, age and sex were all highly significant (p<2x10 -16 ) but none of the principal components for ancestry had a significant association.
