Sensitivity analyses’ results In addition to the IVW method, the WM method also showed a marginally positive significant association between total lipids in S.HDL.L and UC (OR = 1.201, 95% CI: 0.994–1.451, P = 0.052) [ Table 2 ], although this association did not reach statistical significance at a Bonferroni-corrected threshold ( P < 9.94 × 10 −5 ).
In contrast, a previous meta-analysis of GWAS with a comparable sample size (∼ 30,000) reported that SNP rs1831554 within this locus showed marginal significance for femoral neck BMD ( P = 9.94 × 10 −5 ) and lumbar spine BMD ( P = 1.41 × 10 −4 ) [ 8 ].
Monte Carlo simulations show that LAD formation on preexisting GADs is not random, but is rather highly significant ( P = 9.98 × 10 −5 ) ( Fig. 5 B).
Group classification using the support vector machine (SVM) Overall, the set of 12 variables achieved good classification accuracy (81%), sensitivity (78%), and specificity (85%), and each of these were highly significant compared to chance simulations using permutation tests (accuracy P = 9.99 × 10 −5 ; sensitivity P = 9.99 × 10 −5 ; specificity P = 6.99 × 10 −4 ).
Intriguingly, the let-7g targets showed highly significant enrichment for association signal ( p = 9.99 × 10 −5 ) and magnitude signal ( p = 3 × 10 −4 ) in comparison with non-target genes based on quartile categorization.
The dissimilarity metrics, measured separately with Bray-Curtis, Jaccard, and Jensen-Shannon (JSD) indices with 10,000 permutations, were all highly significant (PERMANOVA, p = 9.999e-05), representative of the centroids being different between the two groups.
Beta diversity among sampling years was highly significant for all bird species ( n = 167, R = 0.175, P = 9.999e −05 ; Supplementary Fig. 8c ) and when subsetting by only sandhill cranes ( n = 122, R = 0.106, P = 9.999e −05 ), but not when subsetting for only non-crane bird species ( n = 45, R = −0.70, P = 0.905).
In contrast, there was a highly significant reduction in the percentage of w AlbB2-Dhaka mosquitoes with virus detected in legs and wings (52.4%, n = 21, Fisher’s Exact test, p < 0.0001) (Fig. 6 B).
For MALAT1, the mean expression for SAH patients without CVS was 1.25 with 0.40 SD, whereas that for SAH patients with CVS was 2.76 with 0.77 SD, and the statistical difference between the groups was highly significant (p < 0.0001) ( Figure 1 ).
The difference was highly significant (P < 0.0001) when all three cohorts shown in Figure 3 (RA, SLE, HC) were simultaneously compared.
After stratification by plurality of birth, somewhat weaker but still highly significant associations of ART with ARM were seen among both singletons (OR, 7.7; 95% CI, 4.6–12.7; P < 0.0001) and multiple births (OR, 4.9; 95% CI, 2.4–10.1; P < 0.0001) (Table 5 ).
The Kruskal–Wallis test demonstrated a highly significant difference in SUV mean across age groups in males (H = 25.46, p < 0.0001), with a trend in females (H = 8.52, p = 0.074).
The a priori defined primary pharmacodynamic outcome of an increase in the frequency of Tregs as a percentage of CD4 + T-lymphocytes at D8 was dose-dependent (JT-J test, p < 0.0001) and highly significant for both treated arms (MW-U test, p < 0·0001; 2 MIU: mean [SD]: +6·2% [2·2]; 1 MIU: mean [SD]: +3·9% [1·2]) as compared to placebo (mean [SD]: −0·5% [1·3]) (see Table 3 , Fig. 2 a and b).
