As for T lymphocytes, we observed an almost significant increase in CD8 + cytotoxic T cells ( P = 0.07), a significant increase in CD4 + T helper cells and Foxp3 + regulatory T cells (Fig. 3E ), but no change in PD-1 expression by any of these subpopulations.
