Dose-response relationship between TyG-BMI and the risk of type 2 diabetic osteoporosis After adjusting for multiple confounding factors, RCS showed that TyG-BMI level had a linear relationship with type 2 diabetic osteoporosis in middle-aged and elderly individuals (non-linearity test, P > 0.05), and the dose-response relationship revealed an increasing trend.

For example, a study in Oxfordshire, England, found a declining trend in stroke incidence among people older than 55 years but an increasing trend in younger people. 10 Similarly, another UK study found a declining PAD incidence and prevalence overall and in all age groups studied, except for those aged 50–59 years. 11 Similar trends in IHD and HF incidence were also reported in a UK-wide study. 12 Our findings add to the existing evidence by demonstrating an increasing overall burden in terms of total event rates.
No significant change was observed in the mRNA expression levels of genes related to microglia activation ( Aif1 ) and homeostasis ( P2ry12 and Gpr34 ) ( figure 8B ); however, astrocyte activation was suggested by an increase in the expression of Gfap in GSDM-D KO mice, as well as an increasing trend in the astrocytic glutamate transporter Eaat2 ( figure 8C ).
