DISCUSSION In this population‐based nonrandomized study on C‐ESqCC patients treated with definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy, there was a trend in favor of high radiotherapy dose versus standard dose with borderline significance ( p = 0.06) in the primary analyses (PSW), although significance ( p = 0.03) was observed in the supplementary analysis (PSM).

In age-adjusted multivariable analysis, using NK-AML as a reference, survival was adversely affected by MK (hazard ratio n [HR] 3.8, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.9-4.8; P <0.001), CK (HR 3.1, 95% CI: 2.1-4.4; P <0.001), and RAV (HR 5.6, 95% CI: 2.3-13.7; P <0.001); in addition, borderline significance for adverse outcome was also noted for monosomy 7 ( P =0.06) and -5/5q- ( P =0.09).
borderline significancep = 0.061.2× alpha
After median-follow up over 19 years, vitamin D deficiency was significantly associated with diabetes- and Alzheimer’s disease-related mortality (hazard ratio (HR): 3.64, 95%CI: 1.51–8.82 and HR: 4.80, 95%CI: 1.53–15.1, respectively), with a borderline significance in overall mortality (HR: 1.16, 95%CI: 0.99–1.36, p = 0.06).
borderline significanceP = .061.2× alpha
Both MPNSTs with methylated and unmethylated RASSF1A promoter had lower expression than the benign neurofibromas ( P = .0001 and P = .05, respectively), suggesting that additional mechanisms are involved in silencing the RASSF1A gene in MPNST. For the MPNSTs, a borderline significance was seen with the second assay, between promoter hypermethylation and reduced gene expression ( P = .06; data not shown).
borderline significancep = 0.061.2× alpha
In multivariable analysis, HIV‐1 acquisition was strongly associated with exclusive receptive anal intercourse adjusted (incidence rate ratio (aIRR) 13.0, 95% CI 1.9 to 88.6), history of an STI in preceding six months (aIRR 10.3, 95% CI 2.2 to 49.4), and separated/divorced marital status (aIRR 8.2 (95%: 1.1 to 62.2), while a self‐or unemployed status had a borderline significance (aIRR 3.3 (95%: 0.9 to 11.6, p = 0.06) in a model controlling for risk group. 3.1.
