Of particular note, none of the participants had a known genetic epilepsy, yet 3/9 showed a significant increase in IED frequency during heatwave epochs compared to non-heatwaves epochs, and as a group, there was a marginally significant increase in seizure frequency during heatwave compared to non-heatwave epochs, which suggests that it is not only people with (typically rare) genetic epilepsies who may be particularly vulnerable to the impacts of heatwaves.
Additionally, samples from pregnant women in another prospective cohort study in Wuhan 24 showed that after adjustment for false discovery rate (FDR), each unit increase in the natural log-transformed concentration of phthalates was associated with anemia, with adjusted odds ratios (ORs) being 1.25 for MEHP, 1.22 for MEOHP and MECPP, and a marginally significant association for MEHHP (adjusted OR = 1.19).

Study of both executive and language functions in MND patients is important as “predominantly dysexecutive” and “predominantly linguistic” cognitive profiles have been proposed.[ 3 ] Several studies have shown errors in writing sentences to dictation, spelling, sentence construction, grammar, and object naming errors in primary lateral sclerosis patients.[ 4 ] Patients with pure lower motor involvement performed better in phrase construction tasks compared to pure upper motor-involved patients.[ 5 ] Marginally significant difference between progressive muscular atrophy patients and healthy controls was found in naming tests.[ 6 ] Verbal fluency tasks demonstrated a link between executive functions and language.

16 Here, we showed a marginally significant enrichment in rare noncoding variants of a segment located within the rs4727341-high LD intronic region in SEM1 , in which 4 rare variants (carried by 6 independent cNCS cases) overlapped with a novel craniofacial enhancer, eDlx36.
