In accordance with our previous observations ( Abadier et al., 2015 ), we found a visible, although not quite significant, increase in permeability for Lucifer Yellow and for 3 kDa dextran across IL-1β hi -stimulated pMBMECs compared to non-stimulated and IL-1β lo -stimulated pMBMECs ( Fig. 1 C).
