In this long-term follow-up study, we found that although containment surgery did not produce a statistically significant improvement in final Stulberg classification, a clear trend toward better femoral head morphology was evident (85.7% vs. 60.9% acceptable outcomes; P = 0.057).
Conclusion Containment surgery performed during the reossification stage of LCPD was associated with significantly better acetabular morphology and coverage and showed a trend toward improved femoral head sphericity.
